Me will be making an av
using no bgs and only the filters that come with PSP.
This is what we will be creating.
 
Ok so first of let me introduce
myself. My name is Steven and I have been painting for around four years.
I use many programs including PhotoShop 7, Bryce 5, and the ever popular in VP....Jasc Paint Shop Pro. This tutorial
was done using 7, but can be done using 6 and 8. As far as the av we will be using... its V.P....its
an av... if u didn't take the shot...I don't want to hear u complaining.
Now that I finally got done rambling shall we start??.........
Ok so first off lets start by saving the av we will be using.
1:
First get the av to the workable colors by pressing ctrl+shift+0.
2:
Now go to layers and hit duplicate.
3: After you have 2 layers
make sure you are on your top layer and go to colors/adjust/color
balance...your settings are. -note that u will need to put the settings
in highlights before you hit ok.
4:
Now go to colors/adjust/( hue/saturation/lightness ) and your settings
are.
5:
Go to Effects/blur/gaussian blur and put 3.14 in.
6: Pull up your
layer palette and set the blend mode to hard light.
7: Now go to
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.
Your image should look like this now...
8:
Go to layers and duplicate it.
9:
Go to Effects/blur/gaussian blur, this time put 8.74 in for the
settings.
10: Now take your eraser tool set its size to about 100 and
erase a little bit just to give her a dreamy look. It should look
something like this. -note that it all depends how dreamy you want her
to look-
11:
Again... go to
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.
12: Now go to Effects/Geometric
Effects/Spiky Halo... your settings are....
13:
ok now this step is VERYYYYYY important hold down the ctrl key an hit
c....z......l in raped motion....this does copy....undo....and paste as
new layer....and yes your background layer should be without the last
filter with is why we did undo....
14: Go to your layer palate and
set the blend mode to darken.
15: now take the eraser tool same
settings as last time...and erase the top left corner and on the face....so
it looks something like this.....
16:
now for the name.....you can do the name any way you wish but I'll show
you how I am going to do it... First create a new layer (name this layer
"Name")....then take the text tool click....type your
name....these are the settings I used -note that my name is 3
letters....the kerning will be smaller number for any name larger....you'll
just heft to play with it to get it the way you want (all kerning does
is put a space between letters)-
Heres
where I put the name.
17:
Ok well I don't know about you....but I think the name looks to hard
like that so we are going to do a blur to it.....First go to Layers and
duplacate. Now go to Effects/blur/Motion Blur your settings are.
18:
Now go back to your name layer.....duplicate it....and do a blur on the
new duplicated layer only this time set the angle to 90.....
19: Go
back to the "Name" layer and go to layers/arrange/bring to top
20:
now....it looks good but... I want to be able to read the text better
so....duplicate the name layer one last time and go to colors/Negative
image.....then go to Effects/blur/average....setting is 3 then go to
layers/arrange/Move down.
21: Finally go into the layer palate
and set the opacity on the black name (the one we were just working on)
to 40..
Tadaaaa
