So This is my first tutorial
so hope you enjoy it.
This is what we will be creating.
 
Ok so first of let me introduce
myself. My name is Steven and I have been painting for around four years.
I use many programs including PhotoShop 7, Bryce 5, and the ever popular in VP....Jasc Paint Shop Pro. This tutorial
was done using 7, but can be done using 6 and 8. Now for all
you people that like to complain about stolen backgrounds n shit.....don't
even try I made the backgrounds from scratch and have the ps files to
prove it so...bite me (note: please don't post my bgs at your site
without written permission err via E-mail because I worked hard on them
thank you -smile-) and as far as the av we will be using... its V.P....its
an av... if u didn't take the shot...I don't want to hear u complaining.
Now that I finally got done rambling shall we start??.........
Ok so first off lets start by saving the av and
backgrounds we will be using.
Ok so after you have the av/bgs saved open them all up
and yes...we will be using all of the bgs. Now get your color on the av
so that u can work on it by pressing ctrl+shift+0. Now we will take our
first background (bgbyhawk007.gif) and copy n paste as new layer over
our gal. Set the blend mode to hard light and the opacity to 35.
So
far your av should look like this.
So
it looks good so far...but I want to be able to see her left eye a
little better...so I am going to set my eraser tool to....(see below
box) and erase some of the stuff from around her eye...
Now
all I did was gently click her eye 2 times... this is what it should
look like now.
Ok
now were going to ad the next bg (bgbyhawk025.gif)to our image...Add the
background onto the image and go up to Colors/Invert this will make the
background black n pinkish. Set its blend mode to overlay and its
opacity should stay at 100%. now we are gooing to take our ereaser tool
(same settings as before) and and erease from her left eye down to her
mouth till it is clear of the newest layer then we will click on her
right eye a few times so it will show through....You should have
something like this so far....
don't
worry if its not perfect so far that was just to get some lighting. Now
ad our next bg (bgbyhawk058.gif) onto the image. we will set its blend
mode to overlay. Then we will go and click the eyes a few times so they
will show through. Should look something like this now....
WOOHOOO
haven fun yet??...... so now we ad our next bg (bgbyhawk079.gif) go to
colors/invert then set the blend mode to Overlay and opacity to 23...shuld
look something like this so now....
so...right
no yas are probably going why the hell are we using all of these danm
bgs when they are barley changing the av......well its because we want
the av to have depth we don't want it to just be...flat..... ok so we
will add the next bg (bgbyhawk092.gif) and we will set its blend mode to
screen. this will kind of add a sort of ....green flowing hair look over
her face... you can erase some of the green "hairs" if you
wish...it should look something like this now...
Now
for the final bg (bgbyhawk088.gif)....Add it to our image and set it to
screen....erase the spot under her left eye.....your image should look
like pretty much like this now....
Now
add some of your own magic....maybe some dots, lines, and shapes. Whatever
you think looks good =-) YAY we finished.....bet you never thought it
would end. hehe anyway here is the final image....or at least what I
came up with...added a few dots n a name......took about.....3 minutes
if that to add the dots n stuff (note that that font used was Micro)....
(note:
try to use other bgs and changing the blend mode its one of the best
ways to paint (or at least I think it is) and after you've done it for
awhile its also one of the fastest...i have used this method for about a
little over 2 years on and off...and have won quite a few contests with
it....figured it was time to pass it on.....)
