Teacher: Daisie

May, 2005

In this lesson you will need the filters:
Sextet and NS Softener
You will also need the fonts:
Compacta Blk BT & Silkscreen

Step One: Open your files and change them to 16 mil colors (Colors > Increase 16mill).

Step Two: Open your files and change them to 16 mil colors (Colors > Increase 16mill).

Step Three: Take the av of the girl and go to Adjust>colorbalance>automatic color balance
Settings are:Strength:30
Remove color cast:Checked
Temperature:4355
(these settings will depend on the av that you use..sometimes you have to play with it
a little until you get something you like)

Step Four: Now that you have colorized her we are now going to color her eye and lips so now go to your tools and click on your change to target brush...
for the eye settings are:
Color: #AEB4D2
Size:6
Hardness:0
Step:25
Density:100
Thickness:100
Rotation:4
Opacity:38
Mode:color
Now with these settings color in her eye so that its blue.

Now that her eye is colored we are going to move on to her lips.Your settings for the change to target brush will remain the same except for:
Color: #BC8F8F
Opacity:100
with these setting take your brush and color her lips so that they are a pink color.

Step Five: With her eye and lips colored we are going to move on to adjusting

all the colors so that they will look more natural when done for this there are several things we are going to do..
first go to Adjust>Hue and Saturation>Automatic Saturation Enhancement
Settings are:
Bias:Normal
Strength:Strong
Skintones present:checked

Next go to Adjust>Brightness and Contrast>Automatic Contrast Enhancement
Settings are:
Bias:Neutral
Strength:Mild
Appearance:Bold

Step Six: Now we will add the background so go to background and copy it
and then paste it on top of the av of the girl..after you do this go to your
layer palette and choose your background and then go over to blend mode
and choose screen.

After you have done this now go to your eraser tool
Settings are:
Size:82
Hardness:1
Step:10
Density:100
Thickness:100
Rotation:0
Opacity:32
Using these settings erase around the girls face so that it shows along with a little of her hair and neck.

Now that you have erased around the girl go back to your layer palette and choose blend mode once again for the background only this time
change blend mode back to normal.

Step Seven: Now with the background done we will move on to the font work.
The first font we will use is Compacta Blk Bt.
Settings are:
Color: #FDF5E6
Size:22
Stroke:0.0
Anti-alias:Checked
Once you apply the font rotate it so that the bottom of the text is against
the left side of your av.

ok now with that done we are going to apply a drop shadow to your text
in order to do this you need to first merge the layers by going to
Layers>Convert to Raster layer
once done with that go to
Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
settings are:
Vertical:1
Horizontal:1
Opacity:100
Blur:1.00
Color:Black

After you apply the drop shadow we are going to decrease the opacity of the text so go to your layer palette and choose the text layer and lower opacity of that to 62

Step eight: Now we are going to add the last font to the image and the font we are going to use is Silkscreen.
Settings are:
Size:7
Stroke:0.0
Anti-alias:Checked
with these settings start at the top letter of the previous text and add the first letter
of the new text and remember to convert the layer to raster after each letter
so that if you have to move it over you can do so and it has its own layer.

Step Nine: ok now we are going to move on to the filter part of this, but first you muct
merge all the layers of the av as one and to do this go to
Layers>Merge>Merge All (Flatten)
Once done with that its time for our first filter and that will be
Flaming Pear Atherize so now go to
Effects>Plugins>Flaming Pear>Atherize

Settings are:
Blur:4
Hues:0
Colorize:11
Haze:0
Dreaminess:2
Glue:Normal

Now the last filter we will use is namessupressed softner
so go bk to
Effects>Plugins>Namessupressed>Softner
Settings are:
Radius:30
Opacity:85
Overlay:Overlay
Presets:Glossy Accentuation

Viola your all done Congradulations...remember these settings will work on any av you will have to play with them
though in order to get the desired effect..its all according to the av your coloring.Have fun and enjoy
