Ms Purdy's Lesson #1

In this lesson you will need the font:
Micro and the filter EyeCandy
To start off, save the girl and the background below into your system.


1. Open your mega and background and change them to 16 mil colors (Colors > Increase 16mill).
2. Select your Retouch Tool, your settings are: Mode: Color to Target | Size: 7 | Hardness: 74 | Opacity: 28 | Step: 31 | Density: 100
Zoom into her a couple times and lets colorize her.
For her skin use Color HTML:#DBC5AF R:219 G:197 B:175

For her hair use Color HTML:#B5AE9B R:181 G:174 B:155

For her lips use Color HTML:#B88656 R:184 G:134 B:86

For her glasses use Color HTML:#8CA4A4 R:140 G:64 B:64

For her eyeshadow use Color HTML:#947B73 R:219 G:197 B:175

3. Now that you have her colored, go over to your Layer Palette, right click on the layer labeled Background and Duplicate it. After you duplicate it Make sure you select the Background Layer again.

4. Now go up to Effects > Blur > Gaussian Blur, set your Radius at 1.16 and click on Ok. Because the effect was added to the bottom layer it will seem like nothing happened.
5. Now that you have added the blur, go back to your Layer Palette and select your Copy of Background Layer. Go over to your Eraser Tool, your settings are:
Size: About 5 | Hardness: 0 | Opacity: 25 | Step: 25 | Density: 100
Erase out the rougher parts of her face so that the blur shows through, thus making her look very smooth.
Feel free to erase a you wish, do pay special attention to her jaw line, and remember that if you overdo it, just Edit > Undo it!

6. Select your background image and Copy it , come over to your main image and Paste it As a New Layer. Go over to your Layer Palette and reduce the opacity of the new layer down to 50% so you can see the girl.

7. Erase parts of the background aso that her face shows through,depending on the look you want you can leave the BG at the 50 opacity which we did, or play with it as you like, once you are satisfyed merge your layers.

8. Add a New Raster Layer, go over to your Add text Tool, your settings are:
Font: Micro | Size: 22 | Fill: White | Stroke: None | Floating & Antialias: Checked
Add your name and place it on the lower left hand corner.

9. Go to "Effects > 3d > Drop Shadow", settings are:
Vertical & Horizontal: 1 | Opacity: 36 | Blur: 1.1 | Color: Black | Click Ok to Add it

10. Go over to your Layer Palette and reduce the opacity of the layer with your name down to 48%

11. Now go to "Effects > Plugins > EyeCandy > Motion Trail", your settings are:
Lenght: 80 | Opacity: 35 | Direction: 90 |
Click Ok to add it, then erase the lines that cover her face.

12. Add another layer to your image, then go back to your text tool, change your font size down to 10 and add a looooong line of periods. Place this line along the top.

13. Now add another set of dots, this time go up to Image > Rotate and rotate it 90 degrees to the right, and place a set of dots along the right side , then repeat this step and place another set on the left.

14. Using the same font settings add your name to the right of your AV. feel free to reduce your layer opacity down to about 50% so your lines and name blend in better.

15. Now using your airbrush tool, using the color white, zoom into her eyes and tap a couple times to highlight them.Once you have done that
Add your own bit of Magic ....

And Voila' you are done!!!
