CHANGING/ ERASING THE BACKGROUND OF AN IMAGE
On This Tutorial we will take a Mega, erase it's background, and place this Mega on a different one.
Lets start off by saving the Megahead below us into our files.
Now save the Background.
Lets open up both images in PSP,
and increase the color depth.
(up to COLORS > INCREASE COLOR DEPTH > 16 Mill )
Click on the Girl and go up to
EDIT > COPY
Now click on the Background and go up to
EDIT > PASTE AS A NEW LAYER
Once you do this, the Image of the girl
will be on top of the Background.
Now, lets erase HER background
Click on your ERASER tool
Now go up to your TOOL CONTROL Palette
Type: Single Line
Shape: Round
Size: 7
Hardness: 100
Opacity: 7
Step: 25
Density: 100
Now go back to the Image on which you pasted the girl onto.
To erase, all you do is, go along the sides of the image that you wish to erase, leaving only the female and thus allowing the bg to show through where you erased.
Now simply use the left mouse button and move your mouse slowly along. If u mess up and accidentally erase more than you wanted to, use the right mouse button and go back over the mistake (it puts the missing part back).
Once you have erased around the image, you will see that there is some jagged edges, or rough spots.
Use your Retouch tool
Make sure that for the mode, you have selected SOFTEN

Move your "hand" over the image while pressing on your LEFT mouse-button, it will soften the image for you.
Once you are satisfied with your work, SAVE IT !
VOILA... YOU ARE DONE!
